Glenlyon Norfolk School invites applications for the position of Head of School.
Located on two campuses in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia, Glenlyon Norfolk School (GNS) challenges and supports each of its students to do their best through truth and courage in learning and life.  One of Canada’s top IB continuum schools, GNS is a co-educational independent day school, providing 700 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12 with a holistic education that is committed to the critical thinking, enquiry-based approach of the International Baccalaureate. The School is committed to service, global citizenship, and to the development of the whole child, and is a proud and active member of the Round Square. With 140 dedicated faculty and staff, and a broad program of academics, athletics, fine arts and service, GNS’s three programs (Primary Years, Middle Years, and the Diploma Programme) are distinct but fully integrated, with each of the Junior, Middle, and Senior Schools led by its own Principal.
Reporting to the School’s Board of Governors, the Head of School is responsible for all academic and administrative aspects of Glenlyon Norfolk School. Through refining and executing on the 2017-2022 Strategic Plan, leading and advising on longer term strategic direction,  and attracting, supporting, developing, and retaining the very best faculty and staff, the new Head of School will ensure that GNS stays innovative and creative, while nurturing and enhancing the deep sense of community that members of the GNS family so cherish. As the face of GNS, the Head of School will ensure that it is a priority to engage, educate, communicate, and build enduring relationships with its internal and external communities.
The new Head of School will be a well-rounded educational leader with a proven track record of senior administrative experience, and the demonstrated ability to command the respect of all GNS stakeholders. The Head will be strategic, innovative, and visionary, with a passion for the education of children across all grades, and a natural affinity for community and for collaborative leadership. They will be a person of character, strong values, and integrity, with a collegial style and a warm sense of humour.
