Temporary, Part Time
from September 2019 to June 2020

York House School, located in the heart of Vancouver, is one of Canada’s leading independent schools for girls. Founded in 1932 by seven progressive and insightful women, York House provides an outstanding education for approximately 650 girls from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12. 
Position Summary
York House School is inviting applications from compassionate, innovative and qualified Education / Teacher Assistants committed to providing an exceptional 21st century learning environment for our girls. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge in instructional and assessment practices, a passion for teaching, and an understanding of how girls learn. Teacher Assistants play a key role for our students by assisting the teacher with instructional programs. Under the direction of the Director of Junior School, the teacher assistant will spend time in an intermediate classroom observing, modeling, and completing classroom work with students. The Teacher Assistant works only on days when students are in attendance.

  • Diploma of Educational Assistant or other equivalent training
  • Prefer two years experience working as a Teacher Assistant
  • British Columbia Teachers certification or equivalent, with elementary qualifications is an asset
  • Independent School experience is an asset
