Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff, and under the management of the Principal, Educational Assistants support teachers by assisting students with learning tasks, organizing the learning environment, providing pastoral care for students, and/or performing other duties as assigned by teachers or the Principal. As key members of the staff, Educational Assistants contribute to the development and overall improvement of the School. Educational Assistants see themselves as an important part of the school community, interacting with colleagues from across the school. As Stratford Hall has a strong focus on information and communication technologies, Educational Assistants are competent and confident users of computer applications relevant to both classroom administration procedures and the instructional program.

At times Educational Assistants may be requested to take on further duties as requested by their supervisor or the school administration.
Education: require a high school diploma; prefer undergraduate degree; additional qualification or training in education is an asset
Work experience: previous work experience with children, preferably in a school setting
Terms of Employment
An Educational Assistant will work full time on all days in which school is in session and on professional development days for teachers. Annual salary will be determined by the Head of School in conjunction with the Director of Finance and Operations and will be commensurate with the employee’s experience and training. All other terms of employment not covered in this position profile are outlined in the Employment Agreement.
