After School Care Supervision Aide Junior School (Gr. 1 to 7) September 5, 2019 to June 23, 2020 Part time 3:00pm to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday   York House School, located in the heart of Vancouver, is one of Canada’s leading independent schools for girls. Founded in 1932 by seven progressive and insightful women, York House provides an exceptional education for approximately 650 girls from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12.   Responsibilities Assist with and coordinate the After School Care Program at the Junior School from 3:00pm to 5:00pm Monday to Friday on days when school is in session Provide a safe, welcoming and fun environment for students ranging from grades 1 to 6 Prepare and plan for activities daily   Qualities and Qualifications Collaborative and flexible team-player Knowledge of the current research on girls and learning Strong interpersonal, organizational, time-management and communication skills As member of the YHS Faculty, demonstrated ability to engage in a collegial and supportive manner. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in instructional and assessment practices, a passion for teaching, and a strong understanding of how girls learn. This teaching position involves teaching full-time Grade 1 in the Junior School.  Homeroom teachers enable an environment that is conducive to girls learning.
